Pleasant Hill Tree Lighting

Pleasant Hill was such a cheerful place this time of year. There was horse driven carriages and beautiful Christmas lights along the storefronts. I was happy to see so many eager young children and joyful adults in the crowd to watch their city's Christmas tree light up with Christmas spirit
Since we were set to sing only ten minutes after the tree lighting, I stayed close to the stage and didn't get to actually see the gorgeous tree being lit. It was okay though, because we were given the opportunity to sing for the city and lift people's spirits with some holiday cheer. It was lovely to see all of the seats in front of us filled up, even though it was a very cold and windy night. What was even better, however was the fact that we got to work with Volunteers from the Foundation for Pleasant Hill Education, the Civic Action Commission, PH Chamber of Commerce and the Teen Council to help make this night memorable for years to come.

One of my favorite memories from that night was when we were on stage in the middle of our set. We had just finished our rendition of " Ding Dong Merrily On High" and we were in complete silence- moments before we were supposed to transition to our next song. Then we heard the first few lyrics of it being sung somewhere else! The College Park High School Concert Choir was singing the same exact song as us,  right after we had finished it. Something about that made me and a few other choristers want to laugh out loud. However, since we were on stage, it would have been highly unprofessional and rude to have. We both did an amazing job of the song and I was happy to have gotten the experience of being a city's Christmas memories.
