It was our second day in Europe, and we definitely hit the ground running. There was a morning service all in dutch that we were invited to perform at. Still completely jet lagged, I woke up at 4 in the morning and spent the next few hours slowly getting ready and appreciating how lucky I was to be able to sing at Europe.

Pleasant Hill Tree Lighting
Pleasant Hill was such a cheerful place this time of year. There was horse driven carriages and beautiful Christmas lights along the storefronts. I was happy to see so many eager young children and joyful adults in the crowd to watch their city's Christmas tree light up with Christmas spirit

Pier 39 Tree Lighting
I walked past the enormous Christmas tree upstairs to the Aquarium of the Bay. They had kindly given us a room to place our stuff down and practice before going on stage. Odwalla also brought bins of food for us to eat! I was pretty confident in the songs we were about to sing. Well, all but one.

Workday Diwali 2015
As I looked around me at my fellow performers, I realized that I was the only one under 18 about to go on stage. Even though I knew that I got past the auditions and I was meant to be here, I still felt awkward. However, the sea of sparkling Diwali clothes made me a part of something special.

National Anthem: Oakland A's Game
It was an insanely hot Tuesday afternoon, and I was rushing out of school to get to the sound check on time. I was about to sing the national anthem for a huge baseball game, and no amount of practice could have made me think I was ready for this.
